Bowman University Chrome is Topps’ college football Chrome set, built around autographs of players who are still on campus. The 2025 edition came out October 31, 2025. Hobby boxes went for $149.99 at release, and Topps sold presale boxes for $139.99.
A year later it still trades. Sealed hobby boxes have sold for about $204 on eBay over the last three months, and the set’s autographs have a full season of sales behind them. That makes this a good one to check against real numbers. Topps published odds for every autograph and parallel, so nothing here is guessed.

Chrome prospect cards across more than 80 schools, split into two halves of 100. Refractors fall 1 in 5 hobby packs and X-Fractors 1 in 10, with numbered colors from Yellow /350 down to the SuperFractor 1/1.
20 packs of four cards. Topps also lists 2 X-Fractors, 3 numbered parallels, 4 Refractors, an exclusive parallel and 9 inserts per box. The Jumbo box runs 12 packs of eight with 4 autographs.
One 10-card pack. One of the three autos is a Delight-only Stealth Refractor or Black and Gold Stealth /25. Recent boxes sold for about $285.
Megas are 6 packs of 10 with 4 Teal Lava Refractors. Value blasters are 7 packs of 4 with 3 Pink Lava Refractors. Both can still hold an autograph, just not on a schedule.

What the numbers say
Five things Topps' odds and three months of sales tell you.
- $5typical Chrome Prospect Auto
01Most autographs in this set are small.
We found raw sales of the standard Chrome Prospect Auto for 159 of the 189 signers. The middle player sold for about $5. About seven in ten sold for under $10, and the other 30 signers had no standard auto sale turn up at all.
- ~$50auto value in an average hobby box
02The two autos rarely cover the box.
Add up every autograph and parallel by its odds and its typical sale, and the autos in an average hobby box come to about $50. Boxes sell for about $204. That average leans on rare big pulls: in 4,000 simulated boxes, the middle box's autos came to about $20 and only 1 in 10 topped $100. Numbered base parallels and inserts add a little on top, but the gap is the price of a shot at the few names that carry the set.
- 16%of that average is one player
03Fernando Mendoza moves the whole product.
His standard Chrome Prospect Auto has sold for a median of $382.50 across six sales, and a Gold /50 went for $1,675. On his own he accounts for about a sixth of the auto value in an average box. His autos show up in about 1 in 91 hobby boxes, counting every version.
- 1 in 14hobby boxes has a $50+ prospect auto
04Eight names clear $50.
Mendoza, Bryce Underwood, De'Zhaun Stribling, Darian Mensah, Jadan Baugh, Dante Moore, Jadarian Price and Gunner Stockton. You'd expect a Chrome Prospect Auto of one of them in about 1 in 14 hobby boxes, or in about three of every five cases.
- 1 in 10value blasters has an auto
05Megas are the better retail shot.
A mega box averages about half an autograph, so roughly two in five megas have at least one. A value blaster has an auto about 1 in 10 times. Both lean on parallels: four Teal Lava Refractors per mega, three Pink Lava per blaster.

How we got these
How we got these numbers
Odds are Topps’ published pack odds from the odds sheet on its product page. “1 in 40” means you’d expect one in 40 of that purchase. It doesn’t mean the 40th one is due.
Topps’ sheet lists the base and Chrome Prospect Auto odds twice, once for each half of the checklist. We count them once, because that’s the only reading that matches the two autos per hobby box and four per jumbo box Topps guarantees.
Values are raw eBay sales from July 10 to October 7, 2026. Graded cards, lots and Best Offer sales are left out.
What to keep in mind
- Prices for parallels are a multiple of the player’s standard auto. The multiples come from players with both sales: about 1.35x for Refractor /299, 1.7x for /150, 2x for /99, 4x for /50, 7x for /25, 10x for /10 and 18x for /5. The 1/1 multiple rests on very few sales.
- Insert autos without their own sales are priced off the player’s Chrome Prospect Auto: about 0.85x for Campus Star Signatures, 1.25x for Image Variation, 1.3x for 1955 Bowman, 1.5x for Campus Visit and Acropolis, and 2.5x for The Big Kahuna, again from players with sales of both. The tool marks these with ≈.
- Only three mascot autos have sold so far. Mascots without a sale use the middle of those three, $207.50, and are marked ≈ too.
- Signers with no standard auto sale in the window are valued at the low end of the set, about $3.
- Breaker’s Delight odds add up to about 2.3 autographs per box, short of the 3 Topps guarantees. The tool fills the gap with one generic prospect auto.
- The 1955 All-American autographs haven’t sold in the window, so they show as “No sales yet.”
- Some prices rest on one sale. Those are marked.
