Allen & Ginter is one of my favorite sets every year, and it’s back for 2026. It came out today, October 7.
This one’s a milestone, too. Topps revived the Allen & Ginter name in 2006, borrowing it from the old tobacco cards of the late 1800s, so 2026 is the 20th year of the modern set. It’s still the oddball of the baseball calendar. Where else does a Bobby Witt Jr. card share a pack with Patrick Stewart, Tony Hawk or a Survivor contestant?
That mix is why I keep coming back. You open it for the minis, the strange inserts and the chance of pulling someone you’d never expect to see on a baseball card.

The first two are mini sets. Wicked Power is sluggers, following last year's Wicked Curves pitchers.
What the numbers say
Five things the published odds and real sales tell you before you open anything.
- 52%of hobby hits are relics
01Half your hits are relics.
Topps packs relics at 1 in 37 hobby packs for the most common design, so about one of every two hits in a box is a swatch card. Most sell for $3 to $10. If you're opening a box hoping for an autograph, it's roughly a coin flip: 53% of hobby boxes should have one.
- $20 vs $6celebrity vs. typical baseball framed mini auto, 2025 medians
02The celebrity autos are the better pull.
About three in ten autographs come from the non-baseball side: actors, musicians and athletes from other sports. In 2025 Allen & Ginter those framed minis sold for a median of about $20, while a typical baseball framed mini sold for about $6. The baseball stars and hot rookies are the exception, and they sell for far more.
- 1 in 4.7hobby boxes has a rip card
03Rip cards are the hit to watch.
They're numbered to 199. Unripped 2025 rip cards sold for a median of about $130, more than almost any other hit you're likely to pull. Ripping one open is a real decision, not a reflex.
- 1 in 25value blasters has an autograph
04Blasters are a different product.
A value blaster has no guaranteed hits and no rip cards at all. Buy blasters for minis and inserts, not hits.
- ~$20of hit value in the middle hobby box
05A middle-of-the-road box won't pay for itself in hits.
Across 4,000 simulated hobby boxes, the hits in the middle box add up to around $20 in typical sale value. That leaves out base cards, minis and parallels, which is a lot of what people buy this product for. Go in for the set and the fun, not to make your money back.

How we got these
How we got these numbers
Odds are Topps’ published pack odds for hobby, value blaster and fat pack, including every numbered parallel. “1 in 40” means you’d expect one in 40 of that purchase. It doesn’t mean the 40th one is due.
Values are recent raw sales on eBay. Each hit type starts from its 2025 Allen & Ginter median, then scales by the player’s own autograph market. Best Offer sales are left out because eBay shows them at the asking price.
What to keep in mind
- We only put a price on standard versions. Numbered parallels are rarer and usually sell for much more, but there aren’t enough 2026 sales yet to price them well.
- Some autograph signers are still being priced and use a typical-player estimate until then.
- Base cards, minis and parallels aren’t counted in the hit values.
